Rockport-Dorchester Water Quality Monitoring
EOS Eco-Energy is a small non-profit organization based in Sackville, New Brunswick. In 2017, EOS established the Chignecto Watersheds Monitoring Program. This programs aims to maintain the long-term sustainability of our local watersheds by promoting watershed awareness through citizen science & public education, conducting long-term water quality monitoring, and performing subsequent restoration and protection activities. Water quality data is collected using a Hanna Multiparameter Meter (HI9828) for in-situ measurements, and grab samples are sent to RPC Moncton for laboratory analysis. This project would not be possible without our main funder, the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund.

Data Collection Information
A Hanna Multiparameter Meter (HI9828) is used to measure in-situ water quality parameters (temperature, DO, pH, specific conductivity, salinity, and TDS) at all sampling locations from June to September. To assess additional surface water parameters (nutrients, major ions, trace metals, and bacteria), a grab sample of water is collected (800 mL) and sent to RPC Moncton for analysis. Monitoring activities follow the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government "Guidelines for River Sample Collection and Lab Submission for Watershed Groups in New Brunswick" document.

Changelog
v2.0.0
Added data from 2023 sampling season. Updates to 2020 dataset include: update "MonitoringLocationID" to match current format; change salinity units from "ppt" to "ppth"; change "ResultDetectionQuantitationLimitType" from “Lower Reporting Limit” to “Reporting Limit”.
