Trout River Environmental Committee Community Based Monitoring
The Trout River Environmental Committee Water Quality Monitoring program has been created to provide consistent and reliable annual data on surface water quality within the Stanley and Hope rivers watersheds. The goal of this program is to collect reliable data on multiple physio-chemical parameters so that long-term trends in surface water quality can be observed. Since 2014, funding and resources for this program have been provided by CURA H2O and the PEI Watershed Management Fund.

Data Collection Information
Data is collected at fixed water monitoring stations in the lower reaches of each watercourse or at fixed stations in the estuaries that we manage. The data is collected using a YSI Pro Plus device owned by the Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association (BBEMA). All calibration of the YSI probes and equipment maintenance is performed by BBEMA. Monitoring is conducted in accordance with the CURA H2O guidelines.
