Sherbrooke Lake Water Quality Dataset
The Sherbrooke Lake Water Quality Program was implemented in fall 2017, with 2018 observing the first full sampling year. The program was designed by the Sherbrooke Lake Stewardship committee to obtain a baseline and monitor changes in water quality of the lake before, during, and after the development of a public access site. The program is managed by Coastal Action, with a group of trained volunteers collecting monthly and rainfall-dependent samples. Coastal Action also sits on the committee, in addition to a technical water quality expert, and citizen and municipality representatives from both the Municipality of Chester and the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.

Data Collection Information
A YSI probe (YSI Professional Plus) is used to collect in-situ data from all sites. In addition, water samples are collected monthly and after a rainfall for analysis at an accredited laboratory. A Secchi disk depth is collected monthly at each lake site, while a profile, sediment sample and nutrient below the thermocline sample is collected once in August from specific lake sites. The YSI is calibrated monthly for pH and conductivity, and once before sampling for DO%.
