CIMP231

Map and Visualize

CIMP231 is a stream biomonitoring study in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region investigating the impacts of beaver dams on biodiversity, food web structure and stream health. With the help of community members from Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk, grab samples were collected and sent to Environment and Climate Change Canada's National Laboratory for Environmental Testing at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters in Burlington, Ontario. This data is used to predict changes in benthic diversity and food web structure.

Data Collection Information

1L grab samples were taken by submerging a bottle upside down in the middle of the stream and flipping the bottle below the surface, avoiding the collection of particles floating in the stream. Samples were sent to the National Laboratory for Environmental Testing (NLET) at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) in Burlington, ON.
