Wash Brook Baseline Water Quality Data

Map and Visualize

ACAP Cape Breton is an environmental non-profit organization that offers the knowledge that Cape Bretoners need to make greener choices, and works directly on practical solutions that help protect and restore our natural environment.
Since its beginning in 1992, ACAP Cape Breton has evolved into a dynamic group that integrates environmental, social and economic factors into projects focusing on action, education and ecosystem planning.

This baseline dataset was taken in preparation for an upcoming riparian restoration, wetland restoration and invasive species removal along the stretch of the Wash Brook between St. Peters Road and Archibald Avenue. This data will be taken at an as-needed basis to monitor changes in quality after construction is completed.

Data Collection Information

A YSI probe was used to collect in-field water quality parameters, listed as follows: temp (C°), atmospheric pressure (mmHg), DO (% and mg/L), conductivity and specific conductivity (µS/cm), total dissolved solids (mg/L), and pH.

Data Collection Processing

This data was not altered from in-field recording.
