Grand Council Treaty #3: Laurenson River Basic Water Quality Paramters.

The Anishinaabe world view on water states "We have the right and responsibility to protect the water". Based on this view, Grand Council Treaty #3's (GCT3) long-term vision for the program is to protect and preserve the traditional waters of the Anishinaabe people from all 28 Treaty #3 First Nations by empowering and educating them through long-term stewardship and capacity building opportunities. The goals of the CBM program are to protect and preserve traditional waters; build environmental knowledge and capacity of Treaty #3 members; and prioritize youth engagement in the program.

Informations sur la collecte de données

A YSI Professional Plus handheld multiparameter meter equiped with a conductivity/temperature sensor, dissolved oxygen sensor, and pH sensor was used to gather water quality data. All data was recorded when the pH value balanced out. The YSI sensors were calibrated on a monthly basis.
